Faith and Spiritual Development

This Class is designed to explore how a person’s faith is developed and thereby what role faith plays in the meaning of life for everyone. FAMILY IN CRISIS AND ATTAINING WELLNESS

THIS 16 HOUR CLASS CONSISTS OF TWO PARTS                                                   Schedule

Part 1. Public Safety Family Advocacy                                                  DATE

Family members of public safety responders form a vital part of the                         Saturday October 24, 2026

natural support system that is essential to the responder’s overall well-being.

Advocacy efforts for responders should not only focus on the individuals                                   TIME

themselves but also extend to supporting their families, including both children                       08:30-17:00

and adults. Providing an accepted approach that addresses the needs of responder

family members involves offering educational opportunities and supportive services.

These services should be culturally sensitive, ensuring they are tailored to the unique

backgrounds and traditions of each family, thereby fostering reassurance and

strengthening the support network. Prior ICISF training suggested.

Part 2. A Holistic Approach to Public Safety Wellness Programs                                                                                  Wellness carries multiple meanings within the realm of public safety,                                       DATE

encompassing both personal and professional survival. A holistic perspective                      Sunday October 25, 2026

promotes the importance of maintaining strong physical, cognitive, emotional,

behavioral, spiritual and social health. The demands of such a noble profession                    TIME

require departments to embed resiliency-enhancing strategies directly into their               08:30-17:00

structures. Participation in wellness programs should be encouraged for all

caregivers, ensuring that support is available at every level.                                                              INSTRUCTOR

                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Anne Balboni, Psy.D
